Sometimes something stands out: a message that was edited in WhatsApp, a group chat that does not appear, or a contact without a profile picture. It is reasonable to wonder whether something is broken. It is not.
These things come from the way Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform works. That platform is built differently from the WhatsApp app on your phone, and simply does not deliver certain information. They are limitations on Meta's side, not Boomer's, and we cannot switch them on. Here they are, honestly listed, so you know what to expect.
1. Edited messages do not show up as edited
If someone edits a message they already sent, Boomer Comms shows you the original version, not the corrected one. There is no "edited" label either, unlike in the ordinary app.
We understand this can be annoying, especially when someone is correcting a time or an amount. But Meta's platform does not pass the edit through in a way we can display reliably. There is nothing we can do about it.
Tip: when in doubt, ask for a new, separate message rather than a correction to the old one. That does come through.
2. Group chats and broadcast lists do not sync
The official WhatsApp Business Platform is built for one-to-one business communication. Group chats and broadcast lists fall outside that and do not end up in Boomer Comms.
That sounds like a loss, but it fits how Boomer is meant to work. Instead of a group that fills up, gets shut down or goes unread, you reach everyone personally and individually, at scale. Read about the alternative to your group chat. The result is more reliable than a group, with an overview per person.
3. Contacts' profile pictures are not visible
Meta does not share your contacts' profile pictures through the platform. That is a privacy choice by WhatsApp itself: end users decide who sees their picture, and the business platform does not receive it.
Boomer Comms therefore shows no profile pictures on your conversations. This too sits on Meta's side.
Why this comes with the territory
All of these follow from the same choice: working through the official channel rather than a private number or the ordinary app. That official channel is precisely what makes your communication ban-proof, scalable and manageable. In return, Meta does not pass on a few things you know from the consumer app.
That is why it is smart to keep using the WhatsApp Business app alongside Boomer Comms: the app for the one-off, personal things, Boomer Comms for reach, AI and an overview.
