Better scheduling through personal communication

We all know how it feels to be part of a good team: the communication takes care of itself. Personal contact makes work enjoyable, it motivates, and it is why someone goes the extra mile. Yet many organisations lose that contact as soon as they grow. What starts as a few messages in a group chat turns into a scheduling app with standard notifications. Efficient, but not personal.

Companies keep looking for smarter ways to schedule. That makes sense: time is scarce and efficiency pays. The evolution of scheduling systems shows it well, from paper slips to Excel, from self-scheduling to apps. But with every step towards efficiency something else disappeared: the human scale. Workers became profiles, working days became shifts, and communication became standardised. The result is that organisations have more overview and less feel.

Staffing organisations try to answer this by combining communication and scheduling: WhatsApp for contact, a scheduling app for everything else. Understandable, but inefficient. It leads to duplicate communication, error-prone processes and frustration for planners and workers alike. We kept running into that problem at the organisations we worked with, and we asked ourselves: what if technology did not only make things more efficient, but more personal?

Boomer came out of that idea. We believe personal contact is the basis of good collaboration, including in large organisations. So we are building a platform that connects scheduling and communication through WhatsApp and other channels people already use. Not by introducing yet another app, but by fitting in with how workers already behave. Artificial intelligence lets us structure communication without it becoming impersonal. We take preferences, availability and skills into account, so scheduling stays natural and takes far less time. The planner's role shifts towards someone who has time for contact and connection, because the technology handles the scheduling work.

The result: time saved because planners no longer schedule by hand, more freedom because workers can state their preferences, and accessibility because communication happens on channels they already use. That is how we try to bring efficiency and humanity together. We help companies schedule in a way that feels natural, and help workers feel heard before they even start a shift.

Companies with young teams, short lines and a lot of energy. But that is only the start. Our mission, better scheduling through personal communication, reaches beyond the events industry. Wherever people work, they want to feel seen. And that begins, quite simply, with good contact.
